Submit to this Call

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

• Your Short Film must be Canadian

• 20 minutes maximum length including credits 

• 2SLGBTQ+ expression and content are evident in the Short’s theme, story, acting and/or the setting, and be of interest to the 2SLGBTQ+ community

• Films can be fiction or non-fiction, a biography, a documentary, youth topic, an animation, live action, experimental, or narrative

• The Short Film was completed no earlier than January 1st 2021

• Only ONE Short Film per online entry. Please use a separate entry for each Short film

  * Short Films previously submitted in 2021, 2022 and 2023, but were not on the “Official Selection”, can be re-submitted if it was completed after Jan. 1, 2021

ABOUT THE CALL:

• There is NO SUBMISSION FEE for online entry.

• Submissions open on April 25th 2024

• Submissions close on August 9th 2024 at 12:00pm CDT

• Each short film in the “Official Selection” will receive an honorarium

• There are FIVE AWARDS:

  Jury Choice:
  Best Short ($1000 grant; $500 cash award)
  Best Manitoba Short ($1000 grant, $500 cash award)
  Emerging Shorts Filmmaker ($500 cash award, WFG package)
  2SLGBTQ+ Community Reflection ($500 cash award)
  Audience Choice:
  Best Short ($500 cash award, WFG package)
